Cwmbraninfo: Help

Getting about the site
  • Just click on the hyperlink (underlined orange text) or any of the small thumbnail-sized images to move around and discover the information you want.
  • You will always see an access bar at the top of each page, allowing you  to jump back to a category, sub-category or the home page - or just use you "Back" button on your web browser.
  • Use the "Search and Find" option on the front page to view the directory in different ways.
Why do some categories have zero entries and yet you can still select them?
If you see a zero after a category it just means that there is no in-depth entries.  You will still find a list of basic details like address, telephone number and web site link if they have one.

What do the colours mean?
If you haven't customized your colour scheme in your web navigator, the the following colours will be seen for main entries:
  • Orange text for hyperlinks (usually underlined)
  • Black text for information
  • If an establishment has a black text name, that means that there is no further information.  They may have not yet been visited by us, or may have decline the opportunity to be on this site.  For this reason they may also be listed under "Cwmbran Info Lite".
  • The only exception to this is in some of the navigation pages - as dense lists in orange text are rather ugly to view, they are usually underlined black text.
I do not see all of the page contents and a warning pops up when viewing the front page
Some of the pages contain ActiveX functions which are not essential for viewing the content, but will add extra information.  Install ActiveX in your browser when prompted to see this information.
Why do some selection screen have an "At a glance" section?
This is information that you may be after from a number of establishments without having to view each one.  Supermarkets, for instance, show the opening times - so you can just look at the selection page to see which ones are open now.
