| Comments: | Gwent square before Gwent House was built. As this was completed in 1971/2 then I would estimate that this postcard is from the early to mid 1960s. David Evans is still in the large dark building to the left (now House of Fraser) whilst Woolworth's (behind the two buses) has moved numerous times. The tall black feature on the left is the supporting pillar for some spiral stairs that went up above the shops. | |
